Seafood Marinara Recipe (Pasta Frutti Di Mare)

dhiffallahasma

Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil

4 to 6 garlic cloves, minced

400g can of chopped tomatoes

1 tablespoon of tomato paste

300g spaghetti,

200 g fresh or frozen shrimps,

200 g calamari rings (I used frozen but you can use fresh too)

1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon of dried basil

Optional: 1 teaspoon of Turmeric for the pasta water

Salt and pepper to taste

1. The sauce:

Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan, then cook garlic over a medium heat for 5 mins until soft. Add the tomatoes (can and paste), oregano, basil, salt, and pepper then bring to the boil. Let simmer for 15 mins then stir in the seafood, cook for 5 more mins or until your seafood is cooked and your sauce is thickened.

2. The pasta:

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add in salt and turmeric then cook your pasta "Al Dante" according to the packet instructions. (Note: You can use any pasta type you like here, not only spaghetti)

3. Assembly:

Stir your pasta and sauce together. Make sure you let your pasta sit covered for 3 mins to adhere to the sauce. Serve immediately and Enjoy! :)
